The Bible - Our Foundation |
|
We
believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God. "All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, ... for
instruction in righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16). "No
prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost" (II Peter 1:20-21). |
|
One True God |
|
We believe in the one everlasting, eternal God, infinite in
power, holy in nature, and possessing absolute, indivisible
deity. God created the universe and is the redeemer of
mankind (Genesis 1:1,
Malachi 2:10,
Isaiah 47:4) being both Jehovah of the Old
Testament and Jesus of the New Testament. This one true God
took upon Himself the form of man and as the Son of man was
born of the virgin Mary. We believe that in Jesus dwelleth
all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). Jesus said, "I and my Father are one" (John
10:30). |
|
Sin and Repentance |
|
"For all have sinned and come short of
the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man has a sinful
nature (Psalms 51:5) that comes from transgressing the laws of God
(I John 3:4) and "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). Repentance is the confession and forsaking of
our sins. Jesus said, "except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). |
|
Plan of Salvation |
|
The basic and fundamental doctrine of full salvation is
believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9), repentance,
baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy
Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as
the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:38) |
|
Holiness |
|
Godly living should characterize the
life of every child of God. "For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us
that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world" (Titus
2:11-12). "Love not the world, neither the things that
are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the
Father is not in him" (I John 2:15). |
| The Body of
Christ |
| Jesus prepared His disciples to take
over His ministry by giving them authority to use His name
to preach the Word, cast out unclean spirits, heal the sick,
raise the dead (Matthew 10:7-8). "The works that I do shall
he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father" (John 14:13). "If ye shall ask
anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14). |
|
The Second Coming of Christ |
|
After the death, burial and
resurrection of Jesus, He ascended into heaven proclaiming
that He would return again a second time. This time He will
be coming for those who have died in Christ and those who
are alive that are baptised in His name and filled with the
Holy Ghost (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). No one knows the day or hour
of His coming, therefore we must watch and be ready for His
return (Matthew 25:13). "But he that shall endure unto the end, the
same shall be saved" (Matthew 24:13). |
